Theme: Men's Leadership Forum (Working with Men as Allies to End Violence Against Women)
The international women’s shelter movement needs allies. The good news is that many men recognize domestic violence and abuse is a men’s issue – and they want to make it stop.
When the world’s finest men speak out forcefully against spousal abuse and make it unacceptable for all men, they define strength in a new way. When they take firm action because domestic violence is ‘a men’s issue,’ they become powerful advocates for change.
The morning will begin with a Men’s Leadership Breakfast. Guests will include conference delegates, local and international leaders and men of influence who are joining us to Take a Stand Against Domestic Violence. The day will focus on working with men as valuable partners in achieving women’s rights from different cultural perspectives. Shelter intervention programs and approaches will also be discussed.
